Amy Amy Amy... When we said you needed to finish what you started we didn't mean that crack pipe. Winehouse was arrested and questioned over the controversial video that showed her smoking fumes from a little pipe. If you dig smut, you probably watched it when The Sun posted it to the internet and Charley Rogo posted it on MOG.

Well, Miss Winehouse is in custody today for suspected drug possession. Not sure if they can prove possession if she no longer has it on her body nor in her body. The incident occurred in January and Amy entered rehab shortly after.

More info on Billboard.com

No word yet on whether this will bring her closer to incarcerated hubby Blake.

In light of recent events, I shall post one of my favorite old school rap videos.

The slow motion train wreck that is Ms Winehouse is pitiful & disgusting. That is has become this ongoing low-class soap opera, (life as caricature/career) says so much about her audience, our culture, (quote, unquote). If the music she produced was in any way compelling, or found and expressed new insights into the self-indulgent, ego-trippers with tombstones in their eyes it would at least semi, sorta but not quite justify all this shit. Addiction, affliction.....in this information saturated society? My pity is meted out in dollops

First she needs to get away from the people that are enabling her, my house should do. Next she needs to focus her bad habits on to more healthy ones , like me. And of course I will take care of the blonde hair and the bruises , give me 3 months and the bird will fly again , with me ;)

Anyone with a decent set of ears can hear that she's a soulful, stylish, and - yes - compelling singer who deserves a long and successful career. Anyone with a brain can see that she's crippled by self-loathing, has an addictive personality, and is on a path of self-destruction that can only end in tragedy. As much as I admire her obvious vocal talents, I feel terribly sorry for her.

I've commented on this artist before, and my statement stands: "Billie Holiday."

I think we've all weighed in on Amy, and I concur particularly with Mike the Knife's take as a long time veteran of bad coffee, church basements and 12 step kung fu. If Robert Downey Jr. can pull himself out of the pit, we can hope Amy can do the same. BerkeleyBob

Frost - another fabulous selection! I LOVE that song! it has been super popular in my circle since it first hit the airwaves. (but thank gawd Wino ain't no momma!!!)

Cameron - i think she would be very well off in your care. my vote is for her to get the Cam-rehab-eron treatment!

Mike - my sentiments as well. i just hope she pulls through before we lose her completely. would be such a shame if her candle blew out after only 1 album.

Does this mean Universal is going to come out with Amy Winehouse signature crack pipes now? For a label who is condemning her bad habits, they sure did market that beer glass/ashtray set with her logo on it...

I hope she can pull herself together. But her "art" is hardly anything to get excited about. She has added not a whit to the canon of "self destructive behavior as art" genre. The music is rather generic and her lyrics are pedestrian musings arising from a narcissism inverted on itself. It is the glorification of self turned inside out.

The other day saw a Jacques Peretti docu on British TV on Amy (still viewable online, I think, on http://www.channel4.com/video/amy-winehouse-what-really-happened/catchup.html); I think he was right in considering that, because of how her songs are all based on her life experiences, perhaps she feels to needs to live the misery in order to create her best music.

He also referred to Amy's dad Mitch Winehouse's contemplations on whether or not it would be in Amy's best interest to get her sectioned (http://mog.com/Jo/blog/151670) under the Mental Health Act; well dad, that may be a last resort, but perhaps the time has come to clutch that last straw if you don't want her to end up dead before her time.

I love Amy, but right now I wouldn't want to buy tickets to see her live, because I think I might cry at what I would get to see, and then want to personally drag her into rehab.
