David Byrne's and Brian Eno's 1981 collaborative effort My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts was a groundbreaking album and has inspired scores of artists. Byrne and Eno probably have no peers besides themselves, so it makes sense that they would create another album together, even 27 years later! There isn't much info yet about what they've been brewing up, except a 2 word description by Byrne: "electronic gospel". NME reports that Byrne revealed the album news after his performance in NYC with Paul Simon last week. He's quoted as saying:
I’m finishing up a record with Brian Eno, a musician that I worked with 30 years ago. We did a record together of songs, and that’ll come out. And I’m also working on a collaboration with Fatboy Slim, also songs, I don’t know when that’ll be done but sometime.
Knowing Eno and Byrne's track record, it's going to be amazing and a millennium before its time.
Prefix reported that the duo are making tour plans, but had no further info. Does anyone else know more about this new collaboration? I can't wait to hear some!
Videos from My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts:

The videos are pretty good. The second one reminded me of the one that filmmaker/artist Bruce Conner made for Devo's song "Mongoloid" in the late 70's, using found black and white footage.
man i love the way byrne talks. good news indeed!
This is an exciting peice of news!
My life was the first album of Brian Eno's I listened to. I was blown away and promptly bought all the other albums I could get my hands on. I have been a long time fan of the Talking Heads so hearing that album was magic to my ears. I have high expectations for new music.
I am absolutely delighted by this news. Longtime admirer of virtually all of their work in most every incarnation, so this would be like manna. Eager to learn more about a tour, too. Talk about an event...
Man that album brings back some memories that I still cant remember, huh?
Thia news makes me ridiculously happy. Their first album was completely amazing and I can't wait to here what they come up with next!
yay! it makes me ridiculously happy too, so i'm thrilled to see how many of you are excited!
