Blue Scholars have a smooth, chill style of hip hop that has garnered the PNW duo a lot of respect and a lot of praise. Their latest single is "Loyalty" which features RnB style vocoder elements that may or may not resonate with their current fan base. But this sound is hot in the mainstream, so it sounds like the Seattle boys are attempting to crossover. The new video for "Loyalty," directed by Zia Mohajerjasbi (who directed all the group's vids so far), just hit the web and you can watch it here:

"Loyalty" is off their 2007 EP Bayani, but it will also be included on the upcoming new EP, BUTTER&GUN$. The new EP will be a digital-only release, available April 29th.
Tracklist: 1 - Loyalty 2 - BUTTER$ (Loyalty II) 3 - 27 4 - Loyalty - Instrumental 5 - BUTTER$ (Loyalty II) - Instrumental 6 - 27 - Instrumental

you're right, it might be aiming more to the mainstream, still liking it thought...

Blue Scholars sound like an old Swedish porn flick from the 70s -- I was pleasantly surprised they've got nothing to do with that kind of blue.
Thanks for the introductory offer.

Bartleby - LOL! i'm pretty sure that their name is a play on the phrase "Blue Collar" which means the working class.

Yeah, tell this to my dirty mind that still adamantly believes in the Swedish explanation ;)
