Ladytron announced today that their next bumpin record will be Velocifero, due June 2nd. Their 4th album to date was produced by NINer Alessandro Cortini and Ed Banger's Vicarious Bliss and will be released via Nettwerk Music. (Ladytron remixed 2 tunes for NIN last Fall.) The UK disco/rock outfit added the first new track off Velocifero to their myspace player as well. "Black Cat" is a heavy tune, the kind that rattles the floorboards! And it's blissfully instrumental for the first half, at which point Helen's sexy voice cuts through the noise like a dominatrix! Yum!
There's a few guests on the album as well, though I hadn't heard of them before today. Here's what Ladytron wrote:

...it features collaboration with Colombian noise artists Somekong, the return of musicians Semay Wu and Justin Meldal-Johnson, and some demonic percussion courtesy of Seba from Panico.
As for the record itself, 13 songs, and our favorite so far, some of the best songs are at the end, but we always liked it that way...

Semay Wu and Somekong come highly recommended by Ladytron, so I checked them out. Beautiful stuff! Tap their names to go to their myspace pages as well.

Ladytron will be all over UK, Europe, and N.America this Spring. Scope the tour dates if you want to catch them live:

nice.

it might also be worth mentioning that Assume Vivid Astro Focus (AFAF) did the artwork for the album. Their website is pretty fun to explore.

I'm curious if they will provide a video as well....
