50 Cent made history on Monday night when he appeared as the first high-profile international artist to perform publicly in Kosovo. Other celebrities have visited the territory, some performing for NATO peacekeepers, but only as ambassadors and humanitarians. 50 Cent was the first to perform for the public at large and 25,000 concert tickets sold like peace treaties. His spent 10 hours in the area and the concert took place at a soccer stadium in Kosovo's capital, Prishtina. Hip hop fans were awarded a stellar hip hop performance where locals were ringing in Kosovo's second telephone operator as well as Fitty's latest album Curtis. It looks like the rapper has learned how to gracefully sidestep trouble when needed too. He steered clear of stating any opinions on the local politics and the issue of an independent Kosovo, stating, "It's not for me to decide; my job is to put on a great show." And that he did. The crowed cheered and rapped along to every song while fireworks exploded overhead.

If you want a really interesting look at Kosovo culture, go to the youTube video page for these videos and then click on more vids by this user. Very few of them are hip hop related, but involve a lot of violence. I can only imagine how much these folks relate to hip hop and what a huge treat it was for them to see such a mega-star in their home.
