Doctors Say Amy Winehouse May Have Brain Damage, Likely Won't Survive Another OD

It's been a while since we heard anything good about Amy Winehouse and I fear it may be all bad until the end. An end we might witness before a new album.
Winehouse's doctors have been quoted in numerous publications this month, saying that the troubled star likely won't survive another overdose and that she "may have permanently damaged her brain in the process"! Many of you probably remember last summer when Amy OD'ed on a scary cocktail known as "ice," a combination of cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, ketamine and crystal meth. Amy's close friends said that this overdose resulted in convulsions that looked like the girl in "The Exorcist" movie and doctors feared that her frail bones might break during the fit.
Then, in July of this year, Winehouse discovered that she has an aversion to hash when she apparently was poisoned from smoking it for 3 days straight. A friend of Amy's told The (London) Sun that "she inhaled an 'inhuman' amount of hash that left her vomiting uncontrollably and hallucinating."
(I don't think there has ever been a documented case of pot poisoning unless the person was allergic or sensitive to the drug in the first place, so this may be a special case in medical history.)
I'm going to spare you the pix taken during that episode. It's no wonder Winehouse felt she was "too ugly" to attend her own birthday bash.
Her problems may also be influencing her husband's decision to stay in jail. According to NME, Blake Fielder-Civil turned down the opportunity for an early release that required he stay with his mum and wear an electronic tag. He said his choice was based on the fact that it still wouldn't allow him to be reunited with his love, Amy. But that didn't seem to sit well with the wifey.
As if this wasn't enough, her handlers had to "smuggle" her out of a hotel room that she had allegedly destroyed during a drinking binge. She was wrapped in a duvet and carried out of the hotel because she was so plastered on Jack Daniels after her performance at Bestival. They had fair warning though, Amy had 48 bottles of the liquid fire delivered to her Bestival room before the festival had even started.
On a positive note, there are also rumours on the net that Amy has tried Buddhist chanting and meditation in an attempt to get control over her life and addictions. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working.

if any of her 'handlers' know what's good for her they would pull her from the music biz entirely and force that girl into rehab indeed. buddhist chanting is pretty unlikely to work, and continually touring certainly won't.
I remember several months ago, dad Mitch Winehouse admitted he was considering having Amy, for her own sake, sectioned under the Mental Health Act, which effectively have been like locking her up and throwing away the key while leaving her no other option but to accept treatment.
As much as I am familiar with the "addicts can only be helped if they actually want help themselves" mantra, I can't help but feel tempted to think perhaps Amy's entourage should have stuck together and gone for that "intervention" mantra instead.
Sometimes someone's best friends/spouses/relatives/etc. are those who dare to say and do the things that may harm or even destroy their relationship with the person involved.
Buddhist chanting is something Courtney Love does in her life's battles - ask her if it works (...she typed as she let out a disrespectful "pffft").
Wow. So, she can take a combination of cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, ketamine and crystal meth...but she's allergic to hash.
Honestly, just let the girl kill herself. I think the world has moved on.
When will the aliens pick her up and bring her back to their planet? She is obviously being poisoned by the atmosphere here. ;-)
Normally, I don't have anything say about someone in the music biz who hasn't hit rock bottom. Amy Winehouse's life should be a stern warning to those who think that being over-medictaed on drugs and booze is how you get inspiration.
One can only sit and wonder what kind of demons the girl has inside of her to want to numb herself out every day. She desperately is crying out for help but apparently isn't getting the right kind.
Here is some advice: get rid of your friends, take yourself out of the music biz, stop touring and stop making records. And most imposrtant of all, get out of the large city you call home. My advice wouldn't help but can't hurt to try.
LOL Lady Miss Ian!!! that's some Dr. Who stuff right there. she must've been abandoned here and can't get home. that's the ONLY explanation i've heard that makes sense.
agreeing with you guys about her demons and cries for help. i think posting this was my warning to the youth. nothing good comes from being lame.
wow. all i can say is wow.
sad.
What a brutal state of affairs. And that video...damn.
sad indeed. yep, pull her out of the music biz, asap.she needs to be in rehab somewhere far, far away from urban civilization.
how uncomfortable must it be for the rest of her band? i don't know that i could keep playing through that.
Really sad. She has a great voice, an ear for a memorable hook, and - apparently - no ability to cope with success. I don't expect to get out of 2008 alive.
yeah, the video really hits home more than all the words in the world. it's like listening to cat screeches in an alley.
i hope the band keeps most of the money for these gigs, coz they're certainly the only ones working on stage (and off).
Sheesh. She makes Joplin look well put together and in control in her final days.
Is anyone helping her at all?
Pictures of her from before Rehab became a hit reveal a completely different person, actually attractive and full of talent.
What about the composers/producers - do they allow the music being played like that?
What about her family - don’t they feel like kicking the dealers’ balls some time?
The odd thing is that she is the person she is, yet made it in the music biz today. Usually these characters don't get so far.
that video gave me deja vu.....of the last 30 concerts she's done.
it's jarringly comedic that it says she's singing that god damn song Rehab...
