I had so much fun at the 10th annual Power To The Peaceful gathering this weekend! If you're in the Bay Area, be sure to check out the 100% FREE people-powered event next year. Here's a few of the many photos I captured of the concerts...
Ziggy Marley lookin' too cool for school at PTTP 2008:

Ziggy sang songs from his 1st solo album Dragonfly as well as the Bob Marley tunes, "Redemption Song" and "No Woman No Cry."
Ziggy's daughta (i think) joined him on stage for 1 song:

(I asked around at the fest and others confirmed this is Ziggy's daughta, but I haven't been able to verify that on my own yet. She's absolutely precious regardless!)
Ziggy Marley joined Franti & Spearhead on stage for a rawkin' cover of "Pass the Duchie":

Michael Franti as Rebel Rocker:

Nearly every photo I shot of Franti had this awesome backdrop of giant old-growth trees. Golden Gate Park is such a lovely place for such a positive performance...

Namkha Rinpoche led a beautiful prayer in his native Tibetan language before Ziggy Marley, Michael Franti & Spearhead took over the stage. Here he is during Franti & Spearhead's performance:

I also have pix of him laughing and cavorting, but this pic seemed best: the Dalai Lama's homie visits San Francisco! Next time, we'll put flowers in his hair, but this is a good start!
I'll do one more post l8r tonite with crowd shots. (If you're interested in seeing more pix/video from the event, leave a comment. I'm sure I can arrange something...)

GREAT pix -I've seen Franti perform and love anything by the Marley fanukt- thanks for the treat.
fanukt = family when your fingers slip and you mistype :)
actually i rather like the word fanukt now that you've invented it! it's a bit like farfurghnugen or whatevertheheckthatwordis..
I'm looking forward to hearing the new album, I hear it's going to be totally fanukt!
awesome shots, looks like a damn good time! whoever that little girl is she is adorable!
wow. this takes me back to the 90's and ziggys' song "power to move ya". love it. franti is reggae chic. he should get on some best dressed lists. overall looked like a rockin' time.
I love Franti. Seeing pics of Ziggy and Frati together are just great. I was suppose to see Franti a couple weeks ago but I couldn't. But I get to see him this summer. [:
