Happy day indeed! Roll Deep dropped a sweet new video this weekend: "Do Me Wrong" featuring Janee. It's been a minute since the sexy crew of MCs threw down something new, so this is a treat! Unfortunately, no Wiley this time, but Flowdan is smooth as always alongside Manga and J2K with lovely lady parts by Janee.

I love the direction grime is heading with this sound. Akin to Roll Deep's previous single, "Shake A Leg," this tune has a touch of class while never sacrificing the machismo that makes us love Roll Deep's men so dearly. (Both tunes are somewhat Big Band sounding too. Perhaps, the Big Money Sound stems from the Big Band sound of the 30's/40's?)
"Do Me Wrong" is the latest hit off the upcoming full-length album, Return Of The Big Money Sound. The new Roll Deep LP is due for release October 6th.

This song has a real commercial/radio-friendly sound. Is that normal in grime?
definitely not the norm for grime. Roll Deep are kind of a best of the best crew, comprised of grime MCs who have been doin their thang for a really long time and are on top of their game. So, while the MCs often do all kinds of stuff on the side, as a team they can afford to do whatever the hell they want right now. Listening to this tune and "Shake A Leg," i get the impression that the fellas are a little older now, likkle more mature... these tunes are classier and more refined, (like us, as we age).
i got this same impression from Dizzee's latest hit single too - "Dance Wiv Me". it might sound more commercial to some peeps, but to me, it sounds more refined. as if Dizzee were ready to Dance Wiv classy ladies instead of chav chicks. i could wrong of course.
Wait...as I get older, I'm supposed to be classier and more refined?
