Album:At Folsom Prison
Johnny Cash played "every prison song he knew" when he performed live at Folsom Prison in 1968. Songs like "I Got Stripes," "25 Minutes To Go" and the specially-written "Folsom Prison Blues" are well-known favorites. But have you heard him play "I'm Here To Get My Baby Out of Jail" from the same concert? How about "This Ole House" or "June's Poems"? These are 3 of the 7 songs that weren't included on previous releases of Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison. But a brand new 3-disc box set dedicated to the prison concert features the full 65-minute recording of the first show in its entireity, plus the full 75-minute second show, video footage from inside the walls, video interviews and extensive stories in the liner notes. Columbia/Legacy will release the 2 audio CDs and 1 DVD together as Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison: Legacy Edition on October 14th. This is the 3rd edition of this album, that I know of. The original release was on vinyl in 1968, then the San Quentin recordings were added for release on CD in 1999, now we get the Legacy Edition on CD and DVD. This is clearly the most inclusive and complete of all the releases (thus far). What's next, virtual-Folsom in 2nd Life?
Billboard.com has more information about the new release.
There's also a new film about the same concert, by Northern Light Productions:

Any collection of American Music that does not contain **Folsom Prison** is incomplete.
Molli, such a good call on this one.
This collection should transcend time itself.
'25 Minutes' goes down as my favorite Cash tune ever.
Shirley's 'Walls" is a close second.
This stuff never gets old.
Here ya go.
I JUST heard the guys on Sound Opinions dissect this and was in TEARS when they played Greystone Chapel. Must get this.
I'm telling you. Shirley's story after this recording is equally as sad.
That's a 'MUST FIND'!! Thanks for the info! :)
man, this is a must have for me and thanks for posting that song Chris
