Bjork: "Dull Flame Of Desire" Ft. Antony Hegarty - Single, Video + Remixes

Bjork just announced that "The Dull Flame of Desire" will be the next single available from Volta. Remixes by Modeselektor and Mark Stent are also on their way plus a remix of "Innocence" by Sinden! AND, a new video is in the works from 3 different directors, featuring Bjork and Antony Hegarty (of Antony & The Johnsons). The single, written and produced by Bjork, will be available September 29th on Bjork's own One Little Indian Records. The remixes will be available separately as limited edition 12" and CD. See what a busy fey she is?

The new video sounds equally exciting as the remixes and no less creative than the epic works released thus far. Bjork chose 3 directors from those who submitted videos to the "Innocence" video contest that ran earlier this year. Here's the details on the upcoming new vid:

Meanwhile the video concept for 'Dull Flame' is as unique as we come to expect from Björk. ... Björk and Antony performed against green screen in New York then each director was sent the raw footage to edit and create their piece. Christoph Jantos (Berlin) Masahiro Mogari (Tokyo) and Marçal Cuberta Junca (Girona) are the chosen directors. Each director was given their own section of the film, to develop how they wished - on completion the 3 films were edited together in London to make the final music video.

I also just found out the origins of Bjork's lyrics from the press release for the new single:

'The Dull Flame of Desire' features lyrics taken from a translation of a poem by Fyodor Tyutchev as it appears in the film 'Stalker' by Andrei Tarkovsky.
