WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Method Man/Peerless Poe Becomes A Paranormal Investigator To Escape Thuglife

Posted 11 months ago

Method Man gets inked in his own graphic novel. He's finally made the crossover from comic collector to comic book hero in the freshly released "Method Man." On paper, Meth is called Peerless Poe (does that sound like Prop Joe to anyone else?) and he's ready for a revolution of his own.

Here's the synopsis according to Method Man himself, in an interview with The Smoking Section:

...Method Man is in a gang of murderers who are descendants of the first murderer, Cain. My character doesn't want anything to do with that lifestyle anymore but that's the only life he knows. So, in the outside world, he becomes a private investigator. He just takes the cases nobody else will because basically they don't think the cases are real because they deal with paranormal and occult things.

And here's the official bio from the PR peeps:

An ancient evil of unfathomable power plots the unspeakable--the destruction of the mortal realm and beyond. Man's only hope lies in Peerless Poe, a hard-luck private eye with a taste for booze and a magnetic attraction to danger. A former member of the clandestine Order of the Sacred Method, Poe must forge an uneasy alliance with those who exploited him against enemy bent on global annihilation. This unholy threat wears a woman's face and wields dark energies capable of destroying normal men. But Poe hasn't been normal in years. The Order saw to that. Poe is scarred. Poe is transformed. Poe is . . . Method Man.

I hope MethMan picks up one of them Smart Cars like Redman has now. If Redman is having this much fun with his, imagine both of them rollin' through the hood like a Merc gang. Or like bumper cars, depending on how much chronic is involved...

When will there be Wu-Tang action figures? And, no - the Ghostface Killa doll don't count:

in the full interview, Method Man comments on how the ideas/decisions to release the video game and the Wu-Tang comic book were "wack" and he seemed ofended by their existance.  it sounded like he wanted to set things right with this comic...

i got the impression that Meth wasn't involved in the decision to release the game, like it wasn't something that had any of their creative input, it was just a marketing thing.  Whereas this, he helped create and helped with the story, at least in concept.  i think he put a little bit of his heart and soul into this comic...
