Hieroglyphics MCs Opio & Architect Finally Drop The "Wisdom" - New CD/DVD + Video + Tour
-
Artist:Opio/Architect
-
Album:Vulture's Wisdom Volume One
-
Track:Super Fly Shit
Parker catalano's post yesterday inspired me to check in on our neighbors Hieroglyphics and see what they're up to this summer. The Oakland-based MC crew has been mad busy releasing separate solo albums this year, but you can still feel the support and inspiration of the whole crew in every recording. Del Tha Funky Homosapien released Eleventh Hour in March while Opio and Architect's album was due for release in April. Unfortunately it was delayed until yesterday, but the limited edition CD/DVD Vulture's Wisdom Volume One is finally available! The 14 track CD is accompanied by an 11 track DVD with music videos for almost every song. Released by the Hieroglyphics Imperium label, it's already being compared to Opio's 2005 solo album, Triangulation Station.
Decide for yourself, here's the lead single + its video from the DVD:

As for this summer, the Hieroglyphics crew will be on tour in North America with Blue Scholars! That's sure to be an inspiring show night after night; both groups have beautiful flow and "blue collar" lyrics about what's actually happening in our hoods and the world. Definitely don't miss if they come to your town! You can find tour dates on the Hiero's myspace or website. Note - the SF show is after this tour, so I don't think we get to see the Blue Scholars, which is such a shame. Still going to be a great show in SF tho and I do believe we're gonna go as a mog posse!

what venue are they playing? sf bay area moggers, come out sept. 18th for the show and a hip hop luvin mog meet!
I'm about to start picking up some more music from them. Sick post, and a good follow up to my little write up on that show at the Catalyst. Ascension by Pep Love is actually a really good cd too that you would probably dig.
thanks for the recommendation Parker!
