Which Is More Shocking - Best Buy To Offer Vinyl Or B-52's Babe Nude Photo?

Posted about 1 year ago

I'm not sure which of these stories is more shocking, so it's up for a vote! Both are "news" today and feature a blast from the past making a comeback.

First up - Kate Pierson, the fiery red-head in The B-52's, apparently has a scorned lover who retaliated by posting a nudie pic of the star online. But, as Perez Hilton reported, "her body still looks bangin' " so no harm done I suppose. Here's the censored version:

You can see the X-rated version (if you dare!) over at Perez' place.

Next contender - Best Buy just announced they will return vinyl records to the shelves for the first time since the mid-90's! The consumer electronics store is jumping on the vinyl wave in light of declining CDs sales and increased record sales. I'm surprised to hear that Best Buy of all places will offer vinyl. Some are saying it's ridiculous to devote floorspace to a marginal market like vinyl, while others think that a move like this could lead to further booms in record sales. Plus, some think that vinyl sales keep piracy at bay, for various reasons. It's exciting news for record collectors and I think it would be hard to find a more mainstream acceptance of the vinyl format. Read more about this turn of events over at Tiny Mix Tapes.

So which story do you find more scintillating, more surprising, etc.? Vote in the comments!

I find it curious, and sad, that simple nudity earns an "x" rating.

Nothing shocking about the seeing the wonderful, free-spirited Kate Pierson - an evolved being in so many ways (spiritually, artistically, politically, intellectually) - lookin' good in the buff. Pleasing? Sure. As for Best Buy, this is a company that goes where the money is - and offers some fair deals on music, video and electronic equipment if you go when the sales are on. Again, not shocking.

I'm curious as to what albums will actually be available on vinyl.  Unfortunately (for me, at least) most of the "new" vinyl out there is just as boring as its digital counterpart.

Now, if they started to offer used vinyl, that would be something!

I guess the revival of vinyl is more surprising, naked picture of famous people seems to show up fairly often these days.  Seeing I futilely resisted the demise of vinyl for years I find it's resurgence an interesting, sort of humorous, occurrence.  It's a positive for me, in that it should keep the media viable longer if it again becomes "semi-mainstream", and thus protect my collection from obsolescence.  Think though for my new purchases I will remain with CD's now.    However, Kate Pierson, whose oozed sex appeal for years and always made me a bit lustful, nude, certainly wins the scintillating boing factor.

Thats cool that bestbuy is doing that. Hope they do well, I was thinking that small mom and pop should do well in this market.

Wow Kate Pierson! Well I'll be a Mother F#$ker...

    The rug matches the drapes.

That is to say, the carpet matches the curtains.

If you know what I mean.

I think the pic is cool...glad to see she's sporting the retro look! As far as "Best" Buy, they haven't paid any attention to their CD area in about a year, at least where I live, so why bother adding vinyl?! I can't see any reason for people to stop stealing music, so what's the point? You'll grab the occasional audiophile who actually cares about the quality of the recording, but the masses (read "kids") don't give a shit, obviously. Personally, I grab free stuff using torrents, and if I like something I actually do buy it, but vinyl? I don't see the economic advantage for Best Buy, but I commend them for re-introducing the format. Kate looks cute, btw...

Didn't I see that picture on a banner ad for "Adult Friend Finder"?  Tell me kate isn't one of those people who posts nude pics of themselves on MySpace...

for those of you who didn't read past this post - the pic of kate was taken in privacy by a lover - YEARS ago.  the scorned lover recently uploaded it to the internet to get back at her.  it was never intended as a publicity shot.  just thought i should clarify that.

and anna - i don't think dyes are involved here.  c'mon, gal is a redhead thru and thru!

Agreed. I just don't usually get the opportunity to tell more and more people about these dyes......

"Time to refurbish your special no-no place with a jazzy fall color: Put your triangle’s tresses in the capable hands of #@$, the first dye created especially for your down-there hair. The easy-to-use formula is safe enough for your sensitive lady place. And if your orchid is wilting, fear not — x%x%$# easily covers grays.

Decorate your fuzzy ιclair with a variety of icings, like subtle auburn, blonde, brown, and black. Not enough options (or unsettling euphemisms) for ya? Feather your nest with &*%$#, an oh-no-she-didn’t pink. The dripless formula guarantees that no dye will sully your pee-pee’s teepee, and your new plumage is more than certain to attract plenty of male attention".

    :O
