Portishead Will Head Back Into Studio This Year To Record 4th Album

Posted about 1 year ago

Portishead announced that, after discussing future plans for the band, they will hit the studio instead of the road later this year. Guitarist Adrian Utley told BBC 6Music:

"We are thinking a new album. That's partly why we're not touring enormously, because in 1998 we toured for a year and a bit and it just crashed us. None of us wanted to see each other for a while after that."

No further details are available yet, but this alone is pretty exciting news for P-head fans! Read more of what Utley said to BBC6 at NME.com.

Here's "Over" and oldie but a goodie from Portishead's youtube channel:

That's great news. I'm glad we don't have to wait another 8 years.

Well, that's what they say now but we'll see what actually falls out. It is a good sign that they are learning from their past mistakes, so perhaps there's hope they'll not take so long for another cd.

Loving the new album & they were simply transcendant live at Coachella. I was in Phead heaven!
