Dizzee Rascal's "Dance Wiv Me" Tops UK Charts, Massive Partying Ensues

Dizzee Rascal has headlines on nearly every major music news channel today! The grime star's latest hit, "Dance Wiv Me," featuring Calvin Harris and Chrome
is #1 on the UK singles chart this week. Surprisingly, this is Dizzee's FIRST number one! (And Chrome's 1st release ever!) Way to go fellas! Dizzee's next biggest tune, "Stand Up Tall" off 2004's Showtime, hung out in the top 10 that year, but never made it to #1. Billboard.com has more info.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Dizzee plans to party every night that the song remains at the top. He told NME today, "Yeah, we just had a little bit of a drink and that - I'm gonna have another tonight, all week really. I'm just gonna keep going for it until someone knocks me off!" Dizzee's been known to party, so this should be quite a scene in London this week! If you're in the area, keep an eye out and have a camera/phone ready. MOG could use some London-based paparazzi!

Meanwhile, Dizzee canceled his appearance at the Kent ZOO8 Festival this weekend for unknown reasons. He was replaced by Lethal Bizzle, a fair albeit less exciting trade. The festival apparently had a lot of problems, like overflowing toilets and cancelations from other big acts, which left many concert-goers disgruntled. More info at NME.com
