Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris Perform Acoustic Version Of "Dance Wiv Me" In Magical Mushroom Land

Posted over 3 years ago

Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris performed their beautiful new tune "Dance Wiv Me" in a magical mushroom-filled wonderland at Glastonbury last weekend. And, in a surprise twist, the band played it acoustically! The unamplified music really enhanced Diz's and Calvin's lovely voices. Officially my fave video of the week - and all of July so far - check it out:

Dizzee effortlessly incorporates lines from "Flex" while singing "Dance Wiv Me" and the drums kick out a heavy rhythm under campfire-ready guitar strumming. This is how I like my fireside sing-alongs to sound! Supposedly they are on the Park stage and I guess something BIG must have been happening simultaneously on the pyramid stage coz there is a pitifully small crowd in attendance and these fantastic artists didn't get the screaming response they deserved.

BBC have gorgeous photos of this event on their Glastonbury site:

It's quite possible that this is the "backstage" performance that Calvin Harris mentions on his website:

"Not only that but they filmed an acoustic performance of the track together backstage."

That might explain why there is such a tiny crowd present...
