Tom Waits Invites Tricky To Collaborate With Him In SF
-
Artist:
Tom Waits doesn't often collaborate with others, but word got out that he wanted to work with Tricky. The Bristol producer who pioneered trip hop with Massive Attack in the 90's and who is set to release a new solo album next month, was told by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell that Waits likes his music and would like to meet with him in San Francisco.

Tricky told the press:
"I can't imagine what will come out of it, but I know it'd be a brand new type of music, different to him or me. I was compared to 'Tom Waits on acid' when I first came out. I didn't know his stuff then, but it led me to checking him out and I love it."

I haven't taken the time to figure out how to post a track in the new comments box, but I know Tricky sampled "The Earth Died Screaming" for the song Ponderosa. I'm sure they could make an interesting track together.
..how dark do you like your black?
That's cool news; I'd like to see Tom also work with Rahzel from the Roots.
amazing picture by the way.
Somebody hold me, I think I'm about to pass out.
River - that WOULD be pretty amazing, to hear Tom Waits and Rahzel together!
