New AC/DC Album To Be Sold Exclusively At Wal-Mart

Posted about 1 year ago
Columbia Music only likes Wal-Mart-shopping-Americans. Columbia announced this week that the new AC/DC album, the band's first since 2000, will be exclusively available from Wal-Mart stores in the US. Of course, this may be the band's decision, as they have been highly resistant to adopting the online music distro models that are so popular today. AC/DC music still cannot be purchased on iTunes or from any other digital retailer. Verizon Wireless had a temporary deal with the band to offer full album downloads to mobile customers. But, since full albums are too big to transfer on mobile connections, they were only available for PC from Verizon's website. So, kinda pointless, really. No one really knows why AC/DC or Columbia decided to make their music so hard to obtain legally. The label, the band and the mega-store have not issued any further details.Full story at Billboard.comBrian talks about music and movies:

  5. mollifire says i guess when AC/DC sold their soul to the devil back in the 80's, they didn't count on Satan merging with Wal-Mart. that's gotta be the story behind this...

  8. Universalis says ° ° ° The full collection of AC/DC music is available from many p to p sites, and i strongly believe that the next album will be soon there too, seems it's time to think to what modern world is, hey AC/DC the 80's are over now, wake up... :)))))))))))) Now about Wank-Mart, guess i prefer to starve in front of the store rather than to spend a single cent in there... let's set all these shops on fire, and do it while it is closed, 'cos there is no need to harm the slaves working for those Dalton-Waltons. I think that i will steal the next AC/DC album, just like i did with all the others :)))
