  1. AA Coppertop says She has nice lips. An attractive build. Unlike so many of her contemporaries, she really can act. But reports have it she's an insufferable egotist. I don't know about that, but I do know one thing: the girl can't sing a lick.

  2. dharmachris says eh, what, she's singing? yeah,,, that track is not doing it for me either. do you think she will friend me on myspace? ;-)

  3. naterer says aww, thanks!! That actually really brightened my dull and boring day(took the ACT today) haha. I'll probably do a few more of the hip hop things if i can find songs that work. but back on topic... I'm kinda "meh" about this whole scarlett johansson dealio, i dont have a huge Tom Waits collection(just Closing Time) or anything, but i just cant imagine anybody other than Tom Waits doing a Tom Waits song... he's just so weird like that

  4. getafade says I don't understand what compels people who can't sing to try.

  5. Mike the Knife says "The Piano Has Been Drinking"...and it thinks she shounds jusht peachy. If this was titled "Anywhere I Lay My Mouth," I'd be slightly more interested.

  6. AA Coppertop says I'm the sort of heretic who thinks Waits peaked with "Closing Time", naterer. I find the later stuff increasingly affected and gimmicky. Waits once said he sings like a dog with a cold. An insult to dogs with colds. Waits sings like a dog who's *pretending* he has a cold. ... Considering the album's called Anywhere I Lay My *Head*, Mike The Knife's alternate title is more restrained than it might have been.

  7. Mike the Knife says AA Coppertop: True. But this is a family site, isn't it? Well, isn't it?!? Head. (heh, heh)

  8. Bartleby says I think the overproduction and polishing hasn't done her any good. I seem to recall quite a charming little "Summertime" from a celebrity album she did.

  9. Bartleby says Oh, I forgot my respected co-Moggers if such a lovely lady cannot be forgiven for not striking the right note with them when she so quaintly graces the silver screen of our fancy?

  10. mollifire says Mike - you're a riot! too funny. i think her sumptuous mouth is going to forgive all in this case... i also don't understand why some people feel the need to put out a record when they clearly can't sing. Me, i just want to watch her, so the audio without the visual is practically useless to me! gawd she's good on the silver screen!
