Busta Rhymes Works With Linkin Park On New Album "Blessed"

Posted about 1 year ago
I was upset that journalists sat stone faced during a preview of Busta's upcoming new album Blessed, as was reported by Mr. Frost. Perhaps they were just stunned that the album opened with "We Made It" featuring Linkin Park. It sounds a bit dubious, but I'm going to give Busta the benefit. Besides, Jay-Z did a song with LPark (on Collision Course) and it debuted at #1, so this could be a good thing for Busta right now... According to a report on Billboard, Chris Robinson (of the Black Crowes?) directed the video which was shot in L.A. today with Busta Rhymes and Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington. They also report:
The track, which was produced by Cool & Dre and Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, will introduce Rhymes' eighth studio album, "Blessed," due June 17 via Flipmode/Aftermath/Interscope.
"This is one of those songs that can't be described better than touching the souls of the common people," says Rhymes.

  1. MrFrost says I liked Jay's work with linkin park, but then again that was just a mash up of previously successful songs. I'm interested in what all new material Bussa Buss can cook up with them.

  2. Natazz says No sir. That Chris Robinson is definitely not the one from The Black Crowes. Totally a different person. This Chris Robinson is a black fellow with dreads.

  3. Bartleby says "Flipmode/Aftermath/Interscope" so Busta teaming up with LP is so big that it required 3 labels to release their efforts.

  4. TroyPowers says Ehhhhh...sounds good on paper. Hope it doesn't turn out to be just another crappy colab to grab some attention.

  5. mollifire says not sure what's up with the 3 labels. usually when you see it written like that, it means that one is an imprint of the other. but i doubt Interscope is part of Aftermath or Flipmode (maybe the other way around?), but not sure what it means here... [which is one reason why I quoted it, rather than try to say it in my own words!] ;)

  6. TroyPowers says Interscope owns Aftermath owns Flipmode Something like that. I know Aftermath us a subset of Interscope. I'm guessing that Flipmode is under Aftermath. Sorta like Eminem's Shady Records.
