Preview Songs From Scarlett Johansson's Upcoming Album - Anywhere I Lay My Head

Posted almost 4 years ago
Like staring at a horrible traffic accident, we are morbidly curious creatures. So, I think it's safe to assume that some moggers are curious about the upcoming new album of Tom Waits covers from Scarlett Johansson. There's been a few leaks on the interweb lately, so I rounded up what I could find. But don't be surprised if all of them get taken down. The album is called Anywhere I Lay My Head (after the Tom Waits song) and it has David Bowie's blessing as well as his voice. It was recorded with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek and features music contributions from Karen O, Nicky Z, and Celebration. The cover art was revealed last week and below are some of the songs from the album..."I Wish I Was In New Orleans" and the title track, "Anywhere I Lay My Head":You can listen to "Falling Down" on Amazon.comFull CD info on Amazon.com

  1. mollifire says i can't tell, but it seems that the audio has already been removed from imeem. so, here is another link to the title track: BuzzSugar has an audio stream I agree it sounds a bit like Annie Lennox, but her voice is so deep, I never would have guessed this is Scarlett!

  4. Scotch says Bah, I haven't been able to play this anywhere. I bet it will be right up there with Steven Seagal's album, Songs From The Crystal Cave. heh

  5. Bartleby says From the snippet overheard before all sites had to take down, she sounds like Fiona Apple at times. Maybe, it's due to the typical the over-polishing so en vogue right now. @Scotch: Your video is a sick sadistic offer :p

  8. mollifire says well, for those that missed it - it's pretty bad. it's not that she's off-key, she's just kind of toneless. her voice is not very pretty, which was a surprise to me. at best, this CD will be forgotten, like all CDs by movie stars (Paris Hilton, LiLo, Segal, etc.) However, no one will ever forget the fantastic music of Leonard Nimoy: :b

  9. Scotch says Paris Hilton came out with music? That's NOT hot. And who's LiLo? Be kind, most pop culture goes right by me... That Nimoy cut was outta sight! Like, it was the MOST and so groovy.

  10. AA Coppertop says "LiLo" is what Lindsay Lohan should do for a while.
