  1. Jonh Ingham says Yes, definitely need a London accent to chat grime, innit know wha' I mean? I wonder how many nice, posh people are faking it on the mic? Loving these vids and the soundtrack.

  2. mollifire says i'm thrilled you are enjoying this mini-series Jonh. i thought maybe i was the only one who found this stuff interesting! i often wonder how many rappers (worldwide) come from a posh upbringing only to start faking a ghetto accent and start chatting about the streets. i'm the kind of person who wants to know who is genuine and who is fake. then i tend to ignore the fake ones and promote the ones coming from their heart and their experience.

  3. Jonh Ingham says Being serious for a moment, the grime stars sound and look very real - the body language gives them away! I love the tracks for the same reason I love great dub - imagination and inventive thinking at work. Will Smith samples the Clash and it's lazy. Bizzle samples them and it's smart (if obvious) on a couple of levels, then he drops that rhyme about sitting in the shed 'thinking', and the sample drops in "What have I done?" That's clever.
