If you enjoy listening to Coil, Nurse With Wound, Pan Sonic, Orb, Mum, Autechre, etc. then give these bands a spin - Nommo Ogo and Fluorescent Grey.

If you like 77Klash, Diplo, The Bug or Jah Shaka check out Kush Arora.

Fluorescent Grey and Kush Arora have new albums coming out on Record Label Records in SF, as do Nommo Ogo who also have releases on other labels like Component, Katabatik and Isolate (labels that release stuff like WARP).

If you're in the SF Bay Area, you can catch these bands semi-regularly including their collective record release party this week (see post b4 this one). But if not, you can still enjoy the music I am about to divulge. Artist pages with free audio:

Nommo Ogo made the track embedded with this post.

The artist description on Kabel says, "Emanating cthonic electronic sonicks from non-euclidian perspectives." This 3-piece band experiments with electronic and electro-acoustic elements for creating soundscapes that tell surreal stories.

F. Grey made this: 'Organic Cadence' video recording, rhythmic editing by fluorescent grey. (no overdubbing used, all original source sounds from video):

I just did a hip-hop track in San Francisco with a guy from Jamaica, N4SA, [and] a rapper from Oakland, Blacksmith. A Punjabi singer [from] San Jose heard it in India and I echoed his voice in a dub style throughout the track in the background. I brought a dub version of this riddim to New Delhi and I had an Indian ragga MC voice on it. Right there, the riddim has traveled around the world.

Can't wait to see it/buy/it/download it? If you want links for more music or info by any of these artists, just leave comments about what. I will gladly serve up more specifics!
