Mavado probably didn't realize how high his star was about to soar as a singer when he was involved in a shooting last year in Jamaica. He had just signed to VP Records for a 3 album deal and had just finished recording his debut Gangster For Life when the incident took place. Details are scarce, but reports say Mavado turned himself in last week and was charged with 2 counts of shooting with intent and one count of illegal possession of a firearm. He appeared in court on Friday and was released on $200,000 bail. This isn't the only altercation Mavado has been involved in. In fact, trouble seems to follow him everywhere. Mavado was arrested in 2006 after some kind of fight at a show (some sources say it was Exodus studio, where an engineer was stealing his vocals), he had some kind of conflict with an officer while in custody that led to 3 of his fingers being partially severed. Last year, he and his entourage were attacked in Barbados, he was robbed in Toronto Canada which led to the cancellation of 3 shows and angry promoters (his legal documents and passport were stolen), a man in the audience tried to yank his custom made bling right off his neck during a concert and was consequently injured, police canceled his shows in Birmingham and Bradford due to risk of violence at the shows, and police and military shut down Mavado's annual birthday bash in Jamaica. The same thing continues this year with shows canceled in Trinidad and Tobago, banned in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and one of his entourage being stabbed outside a show in Miami just 2 weeks ago.Considering his magnetism for trouble and his gangsta image and lyrics, he makes the perfect mascot for the brand new Grand Theft Auto IV video game. The most advanced and realistic video game ever created, GTA IV is based on Russian-born gangsters living in NYC. Mavado recorded 2 songs for Rockstar, the game's creators, and his 2007 hit single "Dying" is the theme song for the final game preview.More info at YardFlex.comGTA 4 trailer:
