New State Magazine Focuses On Ireland's Music Scene

Posted about 4 years ago
I can't even count how many times I have linked to nialler9's blog or gotten a hot news tip from its bright and inviting digital pages. It is with joy that I catch yet another clue from this great writer to pass on to you: Ireland has a brand new, shiny music magazine and website catering to its unique locale and the musicians it creates, incubates and hosts. The webzine/magazine is called State, it's very focused on Ireland-based stuff and it just went live this week! The mysterious voice behind the nialler9 blog is a prime designer of the website and a contributor of journalistic content. Congratulations on your fantastic new career nialler! From the About page of www.State.ie:
State is a quality monthly music magazine with emphasis on in-depth coverage of music and popular culture, as well as strong visual impact. State will feature informative, penetrative articles on Irish and international music, complemented by arresting and largely original imagery and a fresh and bold overall design.State’s content will reflect the best of established music both in Ireland and internationally, as well as unearthing the finest prospects for the future in the broadest range of music available in any Irish magazine. All of this will be rolled together with the best and most extensive games, books, film and music reviews.State will be the point where commercial music magazines cross with specialist titles, a publication that treats all genres and styles with enthusiasm, knowledge and superb presentation. The magazine’s digital sibling state.ie (http://www.state.ie) reflects and reports on the constant ebb and flow of great new music, both in Ireland and anywhere in the world where someone can plug in a microphone. State.ie will feature a constant daily stream of free content that complements the magazine, as well as feeding you daily updates on reviews, news, previews and free downloads. State has also nailed down the most informative and entertaining blogs from all over the globe, ensuring you’re at the cutting edge, as familiar with the new face of Japanese electronica as the latest indie darlings from Montreal.

  1. laura27 says There are actually quite a few similar magazines here in Ireland but this one seems much more comprehensive than the others. I'll have to pick up a copy somewhere, hadn't heard of it til now. It sounds really great!
