Is Friday becoming synonymous with free music? I just discovered a blurb on FACT Mag that points to a pair of unreleased Burial tunes! If you've listened to the recording of Kode 9's otherworldly dj set under the stars at the SONAR festival last year (or if you were lucky enough to hear it live!) than you've heard "Speedball 2" and "Stairwell" before. Both songs are darker, more technotic, like Darquan or Hatcha. But neither made it onto the elusive musician's latest opus, Untrue. Rumour has it that these were part of an album that Burial started but scrapped, focusing instead on music that would later become Untrue. Is it true? Who can tell when dealing with a recluse who rarely interviews, performs live or otherwise reveals anything beyond the official releases.
