As many of you know from the first post, MOG recently invited me to chat with Blixa Bargeld of the experimental band, Einsturzende Neubauten, about their new release and unique music production/distribution model. If you missed that post (the same one that was featured on the front page for a bit), jump over to that one first to catch up (or refresh). This one starts off with our discussion of Neubauten's new album, ALLES WIEDER OFFEN, which the band released publically on their own record label. Enjoy Part 2 of our series of MOG chats with Blixa Bargeld: The audio in this footage is funny. It makes me sound like Max Headroom!! Ha Ha Ha ha ha ha! I like it anyway, and glad it's not too quiet. Props to Eric and much appreciation for editing the raw footage into such a fun video series! Thanks Eric!Just before the halfway point, we mention Recombinant Media Labs, which is a phenomenal multimedia space in San Francisco. The main performance space features 10 huge projection screens wrapping all the way around the room and a 16-point surround sound system also placed all around the room. It's the ultimate immersive A/V experience. If you live near SF or visit, be sure to look up what is taking place there. As Blixa and I touched on in this video, he had recently collaborated with Alva Noto for a completely one-of-a-kind performance at RML. I promised to post the link to the RML website and here it is:http://recombinantmedia.net/Part 1 of MOG Interview with Blixa BargeldI reported on the new album and the listener-supported system that Neubauten uses back in July '07.
