Black Lips' "Veni Vidi Vici" Gets Grime Treatment From Jammer And Mumdance

JME gets real busy around the Xmas holidays each year, between raving, laying down tracks in the studio, guesting at his cuz's b-day party and what not. Jammer made an appointment to meet Mumdance at his studio to work on a tune, but due to his busy schedule, they barely had enough time to spit out a quick 16 on an unofficial re-edit that JME made from a Diplo remix of a Black Lips song. According to both Prancehall and VICE Mag, Mumdance tells the story like this:

I was supposed to meet Jammer in the studio he has in his basement. We turned up and his mum answered the door and said he hadn't come home from the rave he'd been at night the before so we ended up picking him up from some girl's house on the other side of town. When we got back, like an hour later, he had to do the bars in one take as he had to run off and make an appearance at his 16-year-old cousin's birthday party. The song is about religion, which gave Jammer the chance to start preaching: "God made you a diamond, he wants to see you bling / He don't wanna see you in a bin / Or drunk on a bench with a gin."

The riddim turned out to be Diplo's remix of "Veni Vidi Vici" by the Black Lips as reinterpreted by Jammer and the tune works out pretty well.
