Meat Beat Manifesto Announce New Album And Touring In 2008

Posted about 1 year ago
2008 is going to witness the BIG return of some of the best experimental electronic bands around. We already have news of a new Autechre album and today I learned of a new album from one of my all-time favorite bands: Meat Beat Manifesto. I can't believe the voracity that MBM still have for playing music. They were one of my earliest techno influences, and I have seen them play live once or twice every year for the last 5. Their skills and dedication have not slowed down one iota! The forthcoming new album from Meat Beat Manifesto is their 9th studio album and it will be called Autoimmune in the US and Canada where it will be released on April 8th from Metropolis Records. It will be called Autoimµne where it is released by Planet µ on April 7th. According to the MBM page on Brainwashed:
The Planet µ version is a 10 track 'cherry-picked' version of the 26 track US version but available on LP in addition to the CD. There is also one exclusive track which will not be on the Metropolis version. "Lonely Soldier," the first single from the album will be out on February 18th through Planet µ as both a vinyl 12" and digital download. Additionally, MBM are in the planning stages for a US & Canada tour to run from mid-April to mid-May with European dates to follow immediately thereafter. We will have artwork and sound samples as soon as they're available. For now, all we know is that Rich Borge is back doing the artwork on this one.
Z-Trip is also back in the fold, collaborating on several tracks for the new album.MBM have such a lovely song wafting into the aether from their super comfortable website:http://www.meatbeatmanifesto.com/http://www.myspace.com/meatbeatmanifestoMeat Beat Manifesto "spinning round dub" music video by Richard Borge:If you like this dubbier stuff, you'd probably love Tino Corp, a side project that includes Dangers and Stokes playing strictly dub sounds with live drumming and the video mixes that the duo are famous for.Photos from MBM's live performance at a 2007 Halloween event in Oakland:Jack Dangers and Ben Stokes do the most amazing video mixes that are impeccably timed to the music and the music incorporates sounds straight out of the video mixes too. It's truly one of the most fabulous things to see live.photos by Molli Fire
