The US prison system is having a hard time rehabilitating Foxy Brown. Even the notorious Rikers Island facility, where Brown has been incarcerated since September, hasn't broken the diva one bit. According to Geoffrey Davis, a friend of Brown's family and an activist who manages an anti-violence nonprofit org in Brooklyn, stated, "If they release her today, she'll be back in a week." Of course, Brown isn't slated to be released until September 2008, unless she learns good behavior. Davis was referring to the fact that Foxy Brown continues to have the same anger-management issues and attitude problems that landed her behind bars in the first place. She apparently hasn't changed her wardrobe by much either. She's allowed to wear designer sneaks with her prison garms and is brought a fresh pair of LV or Gucci trainers when the last pair "gets dirty" an article in the NY Post revealed today. Between her diva threads and don attitude, it's no surprise that she isn't making friends on the inside. According to the NY Post:
She alienates most of the correction officers, threatening them with tough talk about the "juice" she has on the outside. She trusts no one but her mother and manager, and remains convinced, despite break after break, that everyone is out to get her.http://www.nypost.com/seven/12102007/news/nationalnews/foxy_a_brat_in__a_cage_672158.htmFoxy's new album Brooklyn Don Diva is due February 5th.
