Jean Michel Jarre's Electronic Oxygene Gets 3D + 5.1 Remake
-
Artist:
The innovative electronica experimentalist, Jean Michel Jarre, is famous for his immersive environments. His major label album was Oxygene on Polydor in 1976. The multi-million selling album is considered by some to be the "most important and influential electronic music album ever." He used a range of analog synthesizers, echo, phaser, and an early Korg drummachine to create the lush melodies, unique rhythms and spacey atmospheres that characterize the album. Originally recorded onto 8 tracks, it requires 8 hands to manipulate the many machines in a live performance. So Jarre enlisted the help of Francis Rimbert, Claude Samard and Dominique Perrier to re-enact the original composition for a special anniversary release to celebrate 30 years since the original. As if that weren't enough, Jarre also enlisted special cameras to film the live performance in stereoscope! That's right, stereoscope - 3D! The result is a special Oxygene 30th Anniversary Edition 3D DVD with 5.1 surround sound CD, all recorded live in one take with these 4 musicians. This is an absolute first for the music world! Never before has an album been released like this.Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene 10 live in MoscowJarre also added four new tracks to the collection: "Prelude," "Variation Part I," "Variation Part II" and "Variation Part III."DVD Tracklisting:[01] Prelude (New track)[02] Oxygene (Part I)[03] Oxygene (Part II)[04] Oxygene (Part III)[05] Variation (Part I) (New track)[06] Oxuygene (Part IV)[07] Variation (Part II) (New track)[08] Oxygene (Part V)[09] Variation (Part III) (NEW Track)[10] Oxygene (Part VI)Oxygene - Live In Your Living Room will be also be available on regular CD and 2D DVD with audio CD.More info:Uncut newsJean Michel Jarre wikiJean Michel Jarre - Oxygene 2
