Whether you think Mavado is the Gully God, the next Sizzla or just a lucky hoodlum, get ready for the next wave of Mavado mania. The gospel gangsta releases a brand new album on March 3rd: Mr Brooks…A Better Tomorrow. The follow up to last year's chart-topping debut, Gangster For Life: The Symphony of David Brooks, will continue the saga of Mavado's (aka David Brook's) life. According to a press release from VP Records:
"This second installment of his latest hits and daring exploits are built on apocalyptic synthesizer progressions to which Mavado chats and sings simplistic yet profound lyrics with strong conviction and ease."

And, judging from the numerous tracks produced by Di Genius Stephen McGregor, I'm expecting some dark themes in this collection. The press release continues:
"While his community is plagued by violence and corruption, Mavado unites the ghetto youth on rally cry anthems like "Overcome" (produced by Stephen McGregor) & "Don't Worry" (produced by Daseca) and gives thanks to Jah for all his good fortunes on "So Blessed" (produced by Stephen McGregor)."
I listened to a few tunes already and I like what I hear. The synths are front and center in the music, with almost an 80's fervor for digital sounds. But Mavado rides every tune with skill and sincerity, so I think we're looking at another collection of #1 choons...

I figured there would have to be something in it to like since there was thankfulness to Jehovah , that's good enough to me and Inew there would be Reggae.
