Jah Cure is scheduled to play a string of sold out shows this weekend in the UK but as of yet hasn't secured his visa. Rumors of the singer being banned from Britain circulated the internet recently which his handlers denied. But, it turns out that this isn't so far from the truth. While he wasn't outright banned, his entry into the UK has been refused on the grounds that he spent more than one year in prison. The tour organizers are now attempting to acquire a waiver for the reggae singer, but with only days left until the start of the tour, things are looking grim for Britain's Cure fans. Castro Brown and his company, New Name Music, are the organizers of the UK tour and they told the Jamaica Observer earlier this week:
"The position is, we are trying to secure a work visa for Jah Cure. They didn't approve the first application, so we reapplied in an effort to get a waiver," he said. "Until I issue a press release saying that the tour is off, the tour is on. You must understand that the shows are absolutely sold out."Brown also promised that if for any reason Jah Cure won't be able to perform in England, the fans who bought tickets will be refunded. "The money is still there, not being touched. They can always go and get back their money," he said. The promoters also said that if this tour is canceled, they will continue to try to secure the waiver and necessary visas in order to reschedule a tour in the future.Jamaica Observer Talks To Cure Tour Promoters
