Jah Cure Banned From UK Denied By Publicist

Posted over 2 years ago
Yesterday I reported that Jah Cure had been banned by the UK Home Office just as we was scheduled to appear at a string of performances in the UK. Today there are reports from the singer's publicist that deny these allegations, but it is unclear which story is true. A few different UK newspapers had reported that the decision to ban had come from high up in the Home Office, citing that his presence would not be "conducive to public good." His publicist, Alison Young, claims that they are in the middle of the visa process to gain entry to the country and that he has not yet been turned down. One reggae website reported today that Young sent out a statement yesterday that described the situation like this:
Young said that the Rastafarian singer, who has been booked to perform in England for the first time since his release from prison has acquired a work permit for the UK and is now in the process of securing a UK visa, which is a separate application process, but no determination has yet been made on the issue."Until such a determination is made, we find it irresponsible that anyone would wish to purvey such erroneous statements," added Young.
I don't have any direct contact with either Alison Young or the Home Office, so I guess we're just going to have to wait and see what develops. Interesting controversy though.
