I recently rediscovered this track, and I'm finding that it swings like a rattler in a chinaberry bush. Enjoy that pre-gangsta verse from Tupac, Shock-G's smoothness in the j-a-z-z-y style, Hump's insanity, and don't forget Money B's asthmatic flow.If it got much better than this, I ain't heard it.

The album: Iron Flag. The clan: Wu-Tang. When I first heard Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), I didn't like it. It wasn't like anything I had heard before, and it was a little bit sparse for my taste. Gradually, it seeped into my brain and became one of my favorite rap albums. Then they sort of lost me with Forever and The W. I can't really say they found me again with Iron Flag, but "Rules"

...and by "our breed" I mean people who appreciate the album format. I just came across "this story":http://entertainment.uk.msn.com/music/features/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=5450900 in my Internet travels, which relates to what I was saying "here":http://mog.com/mokeyjr/blog_post/91152.I have nothing against Ash, or any other artist who decides to go this way. I just can't help thinking this...

Okay...before I posted "this":http://mog.com/mokeyjr/blog_post/92032, I searched MOG for something on Kate Nash and got nada...zilch...zippity doo dah.Now I click the Kate Nash link and, lo and behold, look at all the freakin' posts! And already a couple with "Foundations" included! Sorry, folks. I wouldn't duplicate someone else's post on purpose.I didn't see this version of the song anywhere

Kate Nash is currently creating a bit of a stir here in the UK, with good reason methinks. The story goes that "Lily Allen":http://www.lilyallenmusic.com/ helped Miss Nash get her recording deal, but I don't think you could consider their styles too similar. There's not a whole lot of information on the "Kate Nash homepage":http://katenash.co.uk/ yet, so have a look at "her MySpace page":http://www.

Are there any songs out there that, whenever you hear them, elicit a strong emotional response from you for no readily apparent reason? I'm talking about something, in the lyrics mainly, that strikes a chord with you even though the words might not have any relevance to your daily existence. It could be simply the way the singer phrases the words, or maybe there's a story being told that affects

I'm pretty sure most will know what I'm talking about when I say I'm almost in a state of mourning for the concept of the "album". I know, I know...it's been talked about plenty of times, I'm sure.It used to be that I would think nothing of popping a vinyl LP onto the ol' turntable and then settling back to listen to the whole thing (minus the time it took to flip the disc over, of course). I ca

You may or may not have heard of them. They've released a few singles here in the UK, but now "The Rumble Strips":http://www.therumblestrips.com/ are recording an album in Los Angeles and if there's any justice in the world they'll be all over your radios.A band member described their sound as "like playing Clash songs with brass". I've also heard comparisons to Dexy's Midnight Runners bandied abo
