this here's a wonderful little lo-fi indie rock song from 1994. The band is horsey, also known as (good) horsey, and good horsey. i think they managed 4 7" singles and a full length before moving on to other things - including the "art" noise band Pork Queen, who i had the pleasure of making noise with on more than one occasion.
the driving force behind the band was Mark Szabo, who has appeared many other places, and i think has a few releases under "Mark" (i think). Max Lee was the man behind the drums, and Justice Schanfarber doing some guitarness. Justice was the man behind the label, Trackshun Industries, and he created the Pork Queen Phenomenon, as well as a little band called "Ocktatrackter" - and that's a band that has a little 7" that's worth hunting down if you like the mid 90's indie noise.that one was on the Kil-Tel label.
anyhowz, this here is still one of my fave songs from that time period. it captures so much of what was going on in my own personal world of music, so maybe it's just me - but it's chaotic and noisy and fuzzy, yet at the same time moody and angstful and beautiful and melodic.
it just seems very nice to have songs that have such personal staying power. there are a lot of bands that i loved in 1994 that i just can't listen to anymore. but i still enjoy the horsey, so i thought i would share.

I actually bought my first CD in 1994. it was my first step into digital music compulsiveness :) I was deep into the alternative scene at the time, good times good times. The years 1995-7 was when music started to REALLY go under my skin, and I still listen to many songs from that era (see Garbage, Girls Against Boys, Morphine, The Afghan Whigs).
Your description of the song is dead on.
