So, i was skimming thru some old tunes, from very old to not so old, kinda thinking "where the heck is all the new music at" and also thinking things like "i wish this band was still around"one of those bands that i'm missing right now is Severna Park. A high energy bouncy pop band that put on a fantastic live show that spent some time playing in Seattle, and then just kinda disbanded, as some bands decide to do. Perhaps it was for the best - i don't know.i just know that i used to be able to get a huge good fix of power pop from these guys a lot more than i do now...they have a myspace page which hasn't been touched since early 2007 and a promise of a 2006 reunion which i'm not sure ever happened... the guitars are sharp, the vocals are tight, the hooks are strung with sharp wire, and the melodics stick and spin in your head. oh yeah - and they were always great at jumping in unison....so any of you Moggers got some favorite lost popsters out there?

  1. goodmusiconly says I'd have to cast a vote for Beulah, a San Francisco band that started out on the Elephant 6 collective ... some of it falls into the power pop arena, some of it not, but either way I wish they were still around. I didn't have the chance to post this song on mother's day so now is a good excuse! "Your Mother Loves You Son"
