I've been away from MOG for twenty days. I miss this place, but our new website is not yet completed. The last three weeks of my working life have been nothing short of completely mental. In the best and exciting way though; great things happening at work, good times with my staff, and search engine marketing galore. Leaving me time for little else except a wee bit of down time with my husband, some precious hours spent with The Boy Who Lived, and a blessing from the gods in the form of Ulrich Schnauss' new record. Finally. I've had it on pre-order with Amazon and had received three separate delay notices on it; I was beginning to think it was never going to get here. When it finally arrived in its non-descript little cardboard case, I was almost underwhelmed.Until I put it on. I can't describe this masterpiece yet. I'm still drowning in its warm bath of Cocteau Twins meets the last train to Klaus Schulze's home town miasma of emotional chaos; hope despair, and utter beauty. Kate Bush once wrote a great line that seems to apply to this record, or at least, my visceral response to it: Just being alive: it can really hurt..
This record feels like staring at the sun too long, and then having visions. That's goofy, but it's about all the words I have for it right now. Staying with it from beginning to end is an emotionally cathartic journey, a train ride through the darkness into light, stopping to admire the twisted creatures along the way and how they make you feel. It took Schnauss three years to craft it, and three minutes for me to fall in love with it.

Great track! I had the pleasure of meeting Ulrich in London after the Tangerine Dream concert at the Forum (1st.nov 2008). I was introduced to him by a fellow TD fan, and Ulrich said to me "Nice to meet you!"....i thought that would be my sentence...He was really a great guy and a "down to earth" kind of man. :-)
Nice story tangerman. I still adore that album and all his music.
