MUSIC CHATTER AND MATTER

Monday morning coffee break

Although I actually drink green tea, after two hours researching personal injury and product liability news, I needed something romantic and unspoiled.

  1. ebuzzmiller says LOVE this song, MTack! Btw, if they come around your neighborhood, go see them - I did a couple of years ago, and Richard Butler is still a total rock star, he looks and sounds great. I'm drinking tea right now, btw :-)

  3. mktackabery says thanks guys. Maybe that's where I got the urge . . . I caught a bit of "Weird Science" on cable this weekend in between reading about 300 pages for class on "effective expert witnessing in product liability torts." I know, I know, gripping stuff. You don't have to tell me. But I saw this part of the movie again and it holds up SO WELL I swear to God . . . too funny!

  5. Augusts1 says mktacka, thanx for adding me to your trusted blogs, i just added you too! I happen to have the Furs 'Talk Talk Talk' & 'B-sides & Lost Grooves'(highly recommend this one for rare Furs tracks) ripped onto my puter & have had them on there since I heard Richard Butler's solo cd spring last year. They are most awesome! I liked Richard's solo cd but it was pretty mellow & inspired me to listen to TPF cause I'd forgotten how much I luuuurve them. I saw them live in Portland, OR back in the day & was front center of the stage when they came on & put on an amazing show(although Richard looked pretty drugged out). The Bangles opened for them & Susannah Hoff made googly sexy eyes at me(swoon). Those were the days . . .sigh! Didn't really get into LoveSpitLove though, they just weren't the same as TPF!

  6. mktackabery says np Augusts . . . there is just something about the Furs, the combination of their sound and just that unabashed romanticism, nobody has the balls to do that anymore I don't think. Love the Bangles story. . . ;-)))

  7. Augusts1 says Yea, no one quite like the Furs! I'm a rabid fan even after all these years. It's always fun flirting, but with a bonafide pop star like Susannah it was quite an ego booster for sure since she was so hawt!
