Just 'cause . . .
When I was a music buyer, back before everyone had little wires sticking out of their ears and talked to themselves in public, I looked forward to the holiday season with a mixture of excitement and dread. Dread for the coming of the lines, the lost souls who only ventured into record stores once a year armed with lists of dead-on music descriptions like "the Bon Jovi record with the blue cover, New Kids Edition, and some piano Christmas thing by a steamroller? You got those, of course," the endless stocking of elevator music and four thousand cds with the same title (Christmas Favorites). . . but then there was always the new holiday music. Every year, something fabulous to buy. I have lots of beautiful holiday music, I can't resist getting more of it every year. I try to stay away from the same old same old, unless it is a major kick-ass version. Believe it or not, Miss Loreena does some major ass-kicking on this rendition of the wassail, "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen." Which puts the joy right in my stocking, I gotta say. Enjoy.

Loreena is fantastic. Love her!
Willie K. does a nice uptempo "Mele Kalikimaka" too!
