This song is about getting your girlfriend to do less drugs.

But since this show is Jimi's largest live audience ever and it's on the fourth of July 1970 - (you can hear the fireworks popping!), and it also has a great Star Spangled Banner/Straight Ahead ending, I try to play it loud from the car every year on the fourth as I drive around the main night time strip, Uptown, Minneapolis, MN (google it) It's a gas!
