WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Exploring an Evolving Instrumental, calling it VJJ

Being a Hendrix fan has it's advantages. We can listen to so many different styles and rythms all the time. He's like a jazz musician using rock n roll as a medium. What would be the definition of jazz for Jimi then, if we allready describe him as making music encompassing "Jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk, Rock, Proto-Heavy-Metal, AND the Blues"? At 2:28 Jimi says he going to "I'm gonna do some jungle sounds.." This sample was 19.40 min long so I cut it up to fit here. For those that won't be looking for it elsewhere ;-) ~MOG is a fantastic site btw~ This jam theme was used at the end of the Woodstock Festival before the Hey Joe encore. note; The date for this is special, it involves a session where 90% of the material were "one-offs". Where each song was very beautiful, enthusiastic, energetic, happy, new... Well basically it means we have only one example of the songs performed on this date, namely, Jan 23 1970 (one week before the fiasco in NYC). It was fantastic, enjoy.
