"I hope you all don't mind us doin' a slow, very slow jam a little bit"-JH Aug 31 1970

Hi

Say um, I really like beer. And um, I really really like Jimi Hendrix. & I really really really like Jimi Hendrix on booze, on stage. Actually this example is the only show where it's obvious. Jimi was tired from the Isle of Wight, being on stage there only 16 hours earlier, and basically having to kill the body-aches for this show. It's also one of the last, and is the last to have film footage. check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wRJ8a_8xU4

I picked the most mellow laid-back track of the night to show the tired, perhaps even emotionally-drained genius, relaxing the crowd with the help of Jack Daniels(?) and his Strat.

transcript before song;

"Ah let me tune my guitar there again.. ah what the hell you know-? nothin-? ?-mumble. [twang] I'd like to do this other thing that um, Like to do this other thing. What, what would you play?

[Jimi listens to aud-mbr interrupting..]

"..I'm glad you said that, cause I ain't able to attempt it. I hope you all don't mind us doin' a slow, very slow jam a little bit, yeah we're just gonna mess around on it ok? It only takes about four minutes. If you can't take that, then get your (ass) [twang! twaannggg]
