One of the biggest anomalies in rock history. But also, one of the best! I don't think Frampton ever matched it or even came close after it.
I'm sorry but I could not force myself to buy this. It got played to death at the time and quantity does not mean quality.. I can name a few other live albums that are much better...
For it's time, it was a jammin' album though.
pretty damn good 1976
Thriller passed Frampton up in the alltime sales chart awhile back..from wiki..I'm sure Thriller has gone past the Eagles by now. Frampton hasn't crossed the 10 Million mark yet, but he certainly presaged the blockbuster era that followed shortly after..
The whole list

Thanks for the info CB i was having a stab
Those other artists had chart and sales success beyond their live offerings, but I don't think Frampton ever did- at least not in the U.S. with his solo albums. That's what I meant by one of the biggest anomalies in rock history. What happened? Why didn't fans of the live album snatch up his studio work? Weird.
Do you, you... feel like I do?
i still love it and saw him last year and it was awesome
I think the record was part of the very beginning of full court major label marketing..when FM radio became more programmed and a driver of album sales. Just a thought.
The sales of the Garth Brooks Live album are quite astonishing to those of us on the Eastern side of the Atlantic, where probably fewer than 1% of the English-speaking population recognise his name, and he would struggle to sell out a 500 seater venue
Of course his stats are a bit skewed..he's been practically giving those records away at WalMart for years now..folks just don't realize how they got fooled by him..he took the money and ran..a marketing genius. I don't think he'll do the comeback thing either..
Oh just you wait till Garth's girls are all in college. I bet he'll get back in the studio and possibly tour around any new material. I do agree though, that he is a marketing genius or at least very savvy and tuned into what the fans want.
Maybe Chris Gaines will comeback?
That would be something- really would be something. I have that CD.
