Typing that title made me think of a mannequin with a really ugly hat. I sure hope someone gets that reference. This week I've spent some weird chill time at home, watching the requisite amount of House and American Idol while playing card games with my wife and getting my ass whooped at Mike Tyson's Punch Out on my old school NES (no matter what I do, I can't fookin' beat Tyson ... Seriously, I've been playing the damned game for almost 20 YEARS and I still can't put him down, heh).
Since we've come to the conclusion that Netflix is one of the cheaper ways to keep ourselves entertained in this new era of budgetary constraints, we decided to start ushering out the DVDs we've had sitting around the house for a bit (all of which, of course, are anime discs because I'm obsessive). Watching more episodes of Elfen Lied earlier this week got me back on my neverending anime music binge, and now I find myself at work with D3RF the WoNDeRiPoD dishing out the lovely sounds of the soundtrack of 2005's Appleseed. I own the movie - only watched it once - but upon hearing the music playing in the first three minute trailer I ever caught for it, I actually stopped the DVD I had in and went to Media Play (RIP) to pick up this soundtrack. Great decision, as I still play the soundtrack disc A LOT (the score disc isn't nearly as good).
So now I find myself wanting to rip my Serial Experiments: Lain soundtrack, my FLCL discs and my Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex discs as well, and I'm really fiending to get my hands on all of the Cowboy Bebop stuff too, as it's fairly affordable when bought in bunches on eBay.
Oh yeah, and today sucked because I had the worst craving ever for nasty McDonald's breakfast 'foods' today (I use the term 'foods' loosely). Thankfully, I kept myself away, and now must go begin slugging coffee to get my body into its proper Thursday morning state.
... bounding back and forth between work and this post has led me to fly through that anime soundtrack and kick into Thom Yorke's Spitting Feathers Japanese EP. Man, my mood couldn't possibly be explained better than just listening to this disc today.
