Noticed another common theme whilst flicking through the music channels the other day...over the top facial expressions in music videos. It's kinda similar to my first one (which was lip synching manically at each other during duets). The video in which it is most notable is Miley Cyrus' 7 Things. She's pulling all these I'm-a-cool-teen-angsty-rock-star style faces (only way I can think to describe it!)
(Though I must admit I do rather like the Rock Mafia remix of See You Again...ahem)

Reminds me of silent movies with the plethora of broad gestures, athletic eyebrows, and over acting required to get the point across. (So the music director is either deaf as a post or intent on grand theatricality in a music video?) Commerce prefers theatricality, since most can't get away with low energy, vintage "Tears For Fears" performances.
well here in the states it appears as if she is really that cool........amongst girls ages 8-12!
