Awful Music Video Cliches No 1
-
Artist:
The Duet
At some point both artists on the song must start singing manically at each other.
Example:
Jordin Sparks feat Chris Brown - No Air
Yep, they start going for it towards the end. Perhaps it supposed to come off as "OMG, they're putting so much emotion into the song!" but it just comes off quite cringeworthy.

this could end up being a great series...As someone who's seen way too many videos .. I'd enjoy it
Remember the video for Clones by The Roots, where they basicly poked fun at all the hip-hop video standarsds?
i thought that song was called "what they do" or something like that
Yeah, you're right. It was What They Do.
It could...if I can think of anything else lol! I'll be keeping my eye out whilst watching all the new vids on Friday!
Damn, it seems this video has been pulled. Maybe the record company got miffed that you were poking fun at them. But I know what it looked like without seeing it!
Other cliches: riding through the desert in a big 60s car (usually a 64 Chevy Impala; stoipping in the middle of nowhere and flirting with the gas attendant/waitress (often part of the previous cliche), cool chicks with big hair all over preening musicians, The Night Club, the crying singer (always a girl) who's busted up because her boyfriend has broken up... Keep em coming Milkshake!
I think my favorite when it comes to these are the videos from Trapped In A Closet by R. Kelly. He takes it to another level when he takes the stage
