Buskers
I don't usually pay much attention to buskers. I normally just walk straight past them, going off to buy the papers or something. Nothing usually catches my attention - though there is an Indian group which plays in the High Street of my city and gathers a bit of a crowd. But the other day I was waiting for a friend. And it was surprisingly sunny...really warm actually! So I was waiting in town on a quiet Sunday, feeling the heat and watching all the people pass by. If there's one thing I hate it's lateness and waiting for people! A busker came and set up and started playing guitar.I don't like to totally generalise when it comes to music but when it comes to acoustic stuff I'm usually not a huge fan. Nothing wrong with it - I just like to have a few more instruments in there! So I wasn't expecting to find myself to listen to this busker or for his music to catch my attention. He wasn't singing - just playing guitar. But the pretty tunes he played had a spanish feel to them and really captured the mood of the day. It was quite the opposite of what I expected him to play - the usual alright-ish cover of an Oasis song perhaps. I didn't find the songs he played boring at all and it made the wait for my friend all the more enjoyable. I even gave him money, the total of one pound I think! And I don't give buskers money. So whoever you were Mr Busker Man, was quite impressed with your playing! And no my friend - whose friendship I am now starting to doubt - didn't turn up!
