Sure, Chris Marrs had some dandies, and Westerberg had a nice go with whole Grandpa Boy/Stereo thing, but nothing captures the spirit of The Mats more than Stinson's work as Bash and Pop. This is, arguably one of the ten best albums of the 90s; no joke. The ballads are heart-wrenching, the musicality is limitless, and the rock riffage blows it up, like a snot rocket in the sub-freezing, Minnesot
