Idlewild A dissapointment from a FAN

Posted almost 6 years ago
I just got the album yesterday and as a outkast fan i must say i was disapointed to say the least. Most of this album is more singing then rapping. Now i know that outkast loves to do diffrent stuff with there music but some of the songs are awful one in particular that gets me is "bad note" its 8 min. of instrumental thats not even interesting to listen to. I hope there next cd is less broadway and more hip-hop.

  3. squirpy says I just got finished listening to the whole thing and I must agree. Besides a few bright spots it didn't do a lot for me. I guess you just have to take it for what it is....a movie soundtrack.

  4. Mellowsawng says I know this is waaaay past due, but the Idlewild album was one of my top 5 albums of 06. The order for 06 for me was Lupe Fiasco, Justin Timberlake, Idlewild, Nas, Young Dro. I guess since I'm a huge R&B fan, the slew of singing songs was just as enjoyable as rapping in general. Although I have to admit, I wanted to hear more rapping, 3000 in my opinion has the best flow in the game, the singing didn't bother me. And its not fair for you to single out the horrible outro and use it as a base for the whole album. What about Mighty O, Hollywood Divorce, Morris Brown and the many good singing songs. They had more good songs on there than most people have songs on their album. Ok, this is getting long, I'm done.
